Hey lovely,
I’ve been thinking a lot about how everything feels lately.
There’s just… a lot going on in the world. And I don’t know about you, but I’ve found myself just pushing through it all - business, life, people, responsibilities, without actually stopping for a second. Especially if you’re a mum, or managing a team, or people rely on you… you kind of just hold it together and keep going.
And I realised this week, I don’t actually think that’s sustainable.
So this blog is honestly just as much for me as it is for you. A little reminder that you don’t need to overhaul your life or have everything figured out… but you do probably need a moment to reset your head.
Because I’ve noticed when I’m calm, I make better decisions. For DTL, for my family (which is also DTL 😅), for everything. And when my head is noisy… I feel it in everything. So I just wanted to share a few really simple, free things that have been helping me lately, nothing overwhelming, just small ways to give yourself an hour back.
A 10-minute meditation
Not in a “be perfect at it” way… just sitting, breathing, letting your brain slow down for a second.
Gentle movement
Not a workout. Just stretching, moving your body, getting out of your head a little.
A brain dump
Write everything down. The messy thoughts, the stress, the to-do list.
It’s wild how much lighter you feel after.
Reset one small space
Not your whole house. Just one drawer, your bag, your desk.
It weirdly helps you feel more in control again.
Go for a walk
No goal, no pressure. Just fresh air and a break from everything. Try an open park, a beach, somewhere in nature and not just the street if you can, or I might just be the anxious one walking around cars 😅.
I think in seasons like this, we don’t always realise how much we need to pause. We just keep going. But even giving yourself an hour to quiet the noise a little… can completely shift how you show up in everything else.
I’m trying to be better at this myself.
So if you needed a sign to slow down for a second, this is it 🤍
Love always,
Rhi x
